Rocío transforms mate gourds into a pair of maracas for the star of the dance floor. Natural seeds inside make a seductive noise when they are shaken. Selecting the dry gourds according to their shape, Dávila engraves them and achieves the color with a bath of smoke. The natural gourds may vary slightly in shape and size from those pictured.
